Home Assistant (abbreviated HA) is an open-source smart home automation platform that allows users to monitor, control, and automate various devices in their home, including lights, temperature, security systems, multimedia devices, etc.

It supports device access from multiple different platforms, then unified control via HomeKit. Initially, the tool was mainly used to connect Xiaomi devices and then use Apple’s Siri for automation control. It now supports multiple platforms.

Home Assistant can be deployed on devices such as NAS, soft routers, Raspberry Pi, and PCs. Xiaobang himself deployed Home Assistant on his NAS, integrated all Xiaomi and Midea devices, and unified smart operations using Apple’s HomeKit.

Recently, Xiaomi officially released the Home Assistant Mi Home integration, allowing users to use Xiaomi IoT smart devices in Home Assistant. The integration and its cloud interface are the same as Miot Auto, both being official Xiaomi APIs.
